Napoleon House on Chartres by caseyhoke Napoleon House on Chartres by caseyhoke
April 2014
Ink and watercolour.
Based on images I took of "Napoleon House" located on Chartres St. in New Orleans, LA. This 200 year old landmark was supposed to be a holding house for Napoleon Bonaparte in Louisiana... But he died before he ever could get to it. So instead, it was used as the home of Nicholas Girod- A mayor of New Orleans in the 19th century. Now it is used a restaurant with great muffalettas.

Done during my Spring Break 2014 trip. New Orleans, then on a cruise on the Carnival Sunshine to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico.
